I hope some people don't see this image and freak out thinking it's a memorial page, but I couldn't resist giving Seth Andrews a 50th birthday shoutout. He and I had a similar background, both being from Assemblies of God churches, both taking ridiculously long to find our way out of fundamentalism, and both devoting the rest of our lives to catching up on lost time and devoting our lives to science and humanism. Seth and I also deconverted at about the same time, so as I listened to The Thinking Atheist podcast, I felt like there was someone else with me on my journey. Seth's kindness, compassion, humor, and intellect have made him a modest titan in our movement. It is safe to say that this comic would not exist without him. Although I've never met him, I feel like he's family.

Seth got together with some fellow heathens to record a special video podcast if you want to check it out.

Which AG Church? The one which believed that Christ would Rule for 1000 Years From Cleveland or the one that said He would Rule 1000 years from Jerusalem or the one that kept a White Stallion in its front yard for a returning Saint to ride to glory on?

The thousand year rule from Jerusalem sounds right. I remember that Jesus was supposed to take all righteous away and then there would be a length of suffering for those of us left on Earth. There was a lot of focus on hell, probably because they made heaven seem so boring.

Sounds like you might have a few stories, my friend?

No just stuck here, retired for health reasons, at least there is good Medical Care available just down the road what's here isn't worth the name.
Will admit I fell off my chair both in astonishment and laughter when I was told of the White Stallion ride to Glory. Personally I'm a born again Pagan who was dating a Black Lady before I moved here, didn't take long for my employment status to change when that became public knowledge. It's just cheaper to live here, and keep my head down, than where I was before.

He's funny in a way I like best. Also, lots of links to other videos.

Thank you very much.

But really, the wings... Angels have wings. When may a human become an angel? Indeed... That with the wings was IMHO not a good idea.

I think that image was from one of his books. It's a satire though, the idea that he was once big in the church and is now a sort of fallen angel, ie, the Devil. My character of Thomas has a similar backstory.
