"Could be a honor killing" - what about the other victims, aren't they too random for that? And an ordered (honor or whatever) killing, done by an assassin who also did all the other murders, that doesn't fit either, methinks, victims still too random and (more important) the killer seems to be limited to a specific area.

Yeah, I think they're reaching at straws, trying to figure this out. I had a list of unlikely suspects and narrowed it down to just this one, but the fact that you dismissed it shows just how much you're paying attention and that makes me a happy cookie!

"Edit" / 2nd thought: I can understand the guns from a remote POV, but why the heck would someone store that much C4 in one's own house? Who could one theoretically do with it, short of blowing said house and oneself up? This stuff is in no way suitable for any kind of defense I can imagine, every other use would amount to an act of terror. As a preparation, that strikes me as weird, to put it mildly.

The fact that you're being logical and making sense shows me you're not a prepper! You actually got it exactly right though, one of the things many of them tend to "prepare" for isn't just the collapse of government but the idea that they may need to cause that collapse some day. Because the US government has tanks and drones, and an advanced military, preppers look to groups like the IRA as inspiration. And "act of terror" as you put it is exactly right. It scares me that this sort of person is real.

1. - paying attention: Thank you! :)

2. - being logical: Huh, what have I done... XD

To be honest, It's a fantasy of mine to make the house safe against assassins and burglars, but it's illegal here to set up booby-traps.

Anyway, that's a very unlikely threat. It's much more likely (but still unlikely) to fall victim of police brutality while being outside the house, especially in the car. There is one case of a kinda famous Minecraft player who was mistaken for a terrorist, surrounded by several police cars while driving on an Autobahn in Germany, stopped, dragged out of the car, getting beaten and his head rammed into the outside of his cars door and moved off. Hours later long after it turned out that he wasn't the wanted terrorist, he got told that he's free but the police won't pay for any damage they caused and they won't take him back to his car either. He was told that he could try to sue but since he was alone and there were many police officers who would say that the damages were caused because he resisted, he had no chance of willing. I stumbled upon this on reddit, about 2 years ago, where he provided a link to a video where he told the story in a bit more detail while playing minecraft.
This is the thing I am *most* afraid of, but preparation against such a thing would be rather difficult so that it's much cheaper to "live with the fear".
Ahem.

About overturning ones own government (something I totally cannot imagine to happen in Germany and our laws woudn't permit it anyway, even though the experiences of the past have shown good reasons for such a thing) - Right now is a time where I can see a certain (still small) likelihood for some people wishing to do that in America. Then again, I don't think the people who want this presidency to be done with ASAP are not the ones who would opt for organized violence.

Sorry 4 the wall of text.

The area where I live in America has a lot of these preppers. Most of them are harmless enough, and some even have a few good ideas. If we do have a major pandemic or the sun has a burst which fries a lot of our electric grid, it is a good idea to be stocked up on some basic supplies. But preppers take it too far. They're convinced full of conspiracy theories and religious end times indoctrination, largely the books of Daniel and Revelation. Many of them, as the dude in these pages, are also white nationalists, neo-nazis, and other extremists. There's some bad dudes with some full on bunkers out there, it's scary!
