Despite the sad backgrounds of our protagonists, that last panel made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

All the time I was under the impression that Jozef died of cancer. So I read the comic again to see how I got to this impression. There was one hint: "... his body betrayed him..." that I misinterpreted. So, instead it was dementia... Will there be more on it? If not: AFAIK that's not killing you in a blink but a lot of demented people get run over. Or kill themselves as long as they can do it.

Fancy Clock!

CTE is something on my mind quite a bit. It's a condition football players get from repetitive collisions. American football, not soccer. I'm very frustrated because many people of color and many people in poverty are recruited with football scholarships and they see it as a potential way out of poverty, but yet it can be a death sentence for them. And all this time, there are so many billions of dollars in the sport that even universities which are charged with studying things like this refuse to put a moratorium on the sport until they can find a way to play it safely.

I really was interested in the idea of someone (Jozef) needing college as a way to let his mind reach its full potential, but only being able to achieve that position because of his physical strength. (That's why he was a little more beef-cakey than he might have otherwise been in this story.) And so even though his interest was in physics, he needed the sport to achieve that dream, but then it was the sport that lead to his death.

Thank you. I didn't know that sports would cause a form of dementia. Now I'm glad I avoided all sports since I got out of school :D
